Victory in Europe Day
Celebrating 75 years after VE Day at Stow Town Coffee. Not quite the celebration any of us expected to have as it was during Lockdown but we made the best of it!
March 2020 to June 2020 - Cakes for Key Workers
Lockdown was a crazy time for all but there was little sitting about in the Cakes by Desire kitchen. The feeling of community was incredible and although it was exhausting it was rewarding beyond anything I could have imagined. My other half delivered the cakes on his plumbing rounds and the joy they brought made it worth every second.
Thanks to the kind donations sent from as far as America we made and delivered hundreds of cakes and cookies to dozens of essential keyworkers...
November 2019 - Bledington Community Shop and Cafe is opened by Pru Leith
Cakes by Desire had a wonderful few hours at the opening day of Bledington Community Shop and Cafe with the highlight being Pru Leith cutting and trying my scale model cake of the building!
September 2019 - Moreton Show
Cakes by Desire had a terrific day at the Moreton show. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting customers, making new contacts, talking about parties and classes and receiving the "Highly Commended" Award!
March 2019 - Stow Town Coffee Launch at The Hangar
As part of the refurbishment under new management a bespoke coffee was created especially for The Hangar, Upper Rissington, The Cotswolds, by Stow Town Coffee. I was asked to produce a cake and selection of cupcakes to mark the launch.
Spring 2019 - Cotswold Home Magazine
Easter 2019 brought a cute collaboration between Cakes by Desire and The Cotswold Florist Studio. We got our heads together and devised a fab couple of hours of fun where the children worked on Easter themed cupcakes and Mallowpops and also flower cupcakes - all to display in a gift basket!

February 2019 - Cake Class with Sandra Mitchell
In February I was lucky enough to spend a day with one of my cake heros, Sandra Mitchell of Kingfisher Cakes. I remember being astounded by her handbag cake at Cake International back in 2013. It was so realistic I couldn't believe it was cake! My partner arranged for me to spend the day with Sandra and surprised me at Christmas with the news - one of the best presents I have ever received and the day didn't disappoint!
October 2018 - Cotswold Friends 40th Anniversary
In October 2018 I was asked to make a cake for a wonderful organisation called Cotswold Friends to celebrate their 40 year Anniversary. Aldi supplied all of the ingredients and I gave them a nod with the Aldi carrier bag beside the sofa on the cake.
August 2018 - Cotswold Festival of Motoring - Bourton-on-the-Water
I had the pleasure of making a special cake for the event which was won by the cutest kid. The weather was awful but despite that I sold out on my cake stall and we all had a lovely day!
